The structure of morphological variation : Morphometric analysis of variation in four endemic Lake
نویسنده
چکیده
The study of morphology is a constant interplay between two sides of the same coin: it is both the study of essential defining characters and the study of morphological variation. Traditionally, morphologists studied “types”: phenotypic variability was seen as noise obscuring phylogenetic signal. It is more recently that morphological variation has become a quantity of interest in evolutionary studies (Debat and David, 2001). Phenotypic variation is the result of the interaction between sources of variation and self-regulatory, buffering processes. Variation in morphology is influenced by environmental effects, genetic mutations and developmental perturbations; buffering mechanisms include canalization, phenotypic plasticity, and developmental stability (Debat and David, 2001).

Morphological variation of endemic species, Saadi scraper (Capoeta saadi) from the Maharlu, Persis and Kor basins of Iran
To study the morphological variation of Capoeta saadii, 15 specimens from Maharlu River (Maharlu lake basin), 15 from Shapour River (Persis basin) and 15 from Kor River (Kor river basin) were collected. In the Lab, a total of 20 morphometric traits were measured using a digital caliper. Then, standardized data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA analysis, Duncan grouping, principal component anal...

During 2018-2019, to study the morphological diversity of Oxynoemacheilus elsae, a total of 51 specimens were collected from the Godarchai, Barandozchai, Zarrinehrood and Mahabadchai rivers, Urmia Lake basin using electrofishing. From the collected samples, 22 morphometric characteristics were measured using a digital caliper with an accuracy of 0.1 mm. Also, in geometric morphometric (GM) meth...

. In this study, morphological variation of three species of Squalius in Iranian basins was studied. For this purpose, 709 specimens were captured from the Caspian Sea, the Urmia Lake, the Namak Lake and the Tigris basin. After anesthetizing in clove oil solution and fixing in 10% neutralized formalin, specimens were transferred to the Isfahan University of Technology Ichthyology Museum (IUT-IM...

In the autumn 2012, a study in order to evalute the accuracy of describe four species from Alburnoides was done using morphological characters. The samples from three speices including Alburnoidesnamaki, Alburnoidesidignensis and Alburnoidesnicolasi caught by electrofishing from type locality that reported by Bogutskaya and Coad, 2009 and also, the samples of Alburnoideseichwaldiiwas caught fro...
متن کاملVariations in fish body and scale shape among Aphanius dispar (Cyprinodontidae) populations: insights from a geometric morphometric analysis
Phenotypic variations in fish body and scale shape were investigated among the three populations of Aphanius dispar (Rüppell, 1829)in Southern Iran through the use of landmark-based geometric morphometric analyses. This species is widely distributed in the region, and therefore, considerable morphological variations exist among the geographically allopatric populations. Based on the Principle C...
